Obituary of Myrtle MacDonald

Mrs. Myrtle Edith MacDonald, of 196 Maple Ave. Sussex, passed away at Sussex Health Centre on February 20, 2003. Born in Mt. Pisgah, NB on August 28, 1921, Myrtle was the daughter of the late Josiah and Mary (Branscomb) Anderson. Myrtle lived in Kitchener Ont. for many years where she was employed in the housekeeping department at a few hotels. After returning to Sussex she was employed at Hoyt's Seniors Complex in Sussex Corner. Later she continued to be a caregiver to seniors in their own homes. She loved her family and her dog Lucky. She enjoyed music, long walks, quilting and knitting. She was always there to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. Myrtle always put others ahead of herself. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch # 20 where she enjoyed Saturday Night Dances. She enjoyed her family, music, long walks, quilting and Knitting. She is survived by her husband, Robert MacDonald of Sussex, 3 sons; Donald MacDonald of Apohaqui, Bill and his wife Mabel of Sussex, Emery and his wife Jeannie of Sussex, her daughter Linda Payne and her husband Donald of Sussex, her brother Gerald Anderson and his wife Diane of Petitcodiac, 2 sisters; Nettie Nolan of Amherst NS, Joan Doyle and her husband Grover of Carsonville, 17 grandchildren, Ray, Randy, Shirley, Sharon, Sally, Sandy, Crystal, John, Elizabeth, Marie, Susan, Donnie, Ronnie, Donna, Cory, Brad and Wendy, 28 great grandchildren, Chelsey, Cody, Carly, Bonnie, Courtney, Megan, Jeremy, Scullus, Dannis Tyler, Samantha, Chadd, Cassandra, Brandon, D.J. Kayla, Courtney, Jordan, Justin, Josh, Jackie, Cody, Jessie, Preston, Shawn, Camryn, sister in law Vera Anderson Smith Creek as well as by several nieces and nephews. Myrtle was predeceased by a son Carmyn who passed away 1955, by 4 brothers Everett, Theodore, Fred, and Ira and by 1 sister Bertha, Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where the family will be receiving relatives and friends on Saturday 7-9, Sunday 2-4, 7-9pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Monday, February 24th, 2003 at 2:00pm, with Rev. Gordon Walker Officiating. Interment will be in Gosline Cemetery.
