Obituary of Ruby Booth
With broken hearts the family of Ruby Booth announce her passing at the Sussex Health Centre on August 27, 2023 at the age of 88, surrounded by her loving family.
Ruby Christine “Hall” Booth was born on July 9, 1935 in Norton, N.B. She was the daughter of C.W. "Ted” and Lottie Hall and the wife of John H. Booth who passed away in 1997.
Mom worked in the Gift Shop at the Health Centre for many years. She was also the Sec/Treas of Riverbank Cemetery for 25 years.
She was a member of the Norton Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Society.
Mom and Dad enjoyed many trips and Canada Life Conventions. Her favorite place was Hawaii where they travelled to 4 times.
Many years were spent in the house in Norton where they raised their family, then in 1987 they made the move to Sussex and enjoyed their new home on Arnold Avenue. In 2008 Mom moved to her new home on Meadow Lane where she spent many happy years. It was a nice time in her life on Meadow Lane when her sister Evelyn and husband Len moved in across the street. Mom and Margaret always knew each other but became close friends when Margaret moved to the “Lane”. Many hours spent with Juanita helping out were good times and looked forward to. Juanita became part of our family.
After Dad passed Mom enjoyed many bus trips with her siblings. Shopping trips to Bangor were always fun with sister Jean and Judy. Bowling with Ralph and Gordon on Tuesday afternoons were looked forward to.
Mom was a great cook and loved a cup of tea and cookies were always at the ready for anyone who popped in.
Mom loved animals, especially deer and cats.
Toronto Blue Jay game schedule was printed in the spring, and she always knew where they were playing and was an avid fan. She and Dad went to Dunedin and saw many spring training games. A couple of trips to Toronto were made to watch the Jays play.
Mom followed the Royal Family from a very young age. Her collection of Royalty pieces and memorabilia were treasured.
Mom loved going for lunches and butterscotch pie at JJ's.
Mom loved Christmas and the Season. Decorating inside and out were started early. Her yearly Christmas Party for her great grandchildren was always looked forward to.
